About their Exhaust System

Here's What Ford Owners Ask
Commonly Asked Questions
-
Why wouldn't I just buy a complete cat-back system? The Ram 1500 comes from the factory with a mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust system. These systems are extremely high quality, in most cases a higher quality than aftermarket systems. By replacing the muffler, deleting the resonator, and adding our oversized stainless exhaust tips you will achieve the sound, look and added performance of a complete cat-back system for a fraction of the cost. The average ear will not be able to tell the difference between the B2 retrofit muffler and a Magnaflow full system for triple the cost. B2 Fabrication has been making exhaust systems for the Ram this way since 2009 with thousands of satisfied customers, our systems sound fantastic and will save you $500 to $1,500 on average over other aftermarket complete cat-back systems.
-
What is the sound level difference for all of the various exhaust combinations? This chart explains the difference in sound level you can expect to achieve with our various muffler and resonator combinations. Swapping out your factory exhaust tips for B2's oversized tips will not change the sound enough to notice.
-
How do the B2 exhaust products compare with other brandsWe have a short and helpful blog post about that here It explains how to choose an aftermarket exhaust system and how B2 systems stack up.
-
Can I install the B2 Fabrication muffler or muffler delete system myself?Yes, the installation process is straightforward. It involves cutting out the existing muffler (if applicable) and fitting the new one with clamps or welding. Both systems come with all necessary mounting hardware. Welding is not required as both systems can be installed with clamps. However, welding can be done for a more permanent installation if desired. It is important to install the clamps properly for a proper seal, a little high temp silicone inside of the joint will help the sealing process. We have designed the slots in the tubing to exactly match the width of the clamp. Line the clamp up with the slots and tighten extremely tight, preferably with an air powered impact wrench.
-
What RAM 1500 models are compatible with B2 Fabrication mufflers and muffler delete systems? We have a complete line of exhaust products to fit all 4th generation Ram 1500's (2008-2019 plus Classic) and 5th Generation Ram 1500 (2019-2024). These Ram 1500 exhaust system products include retrofit mufflers, resonator delete kits and direct fit exhaust tips and will fit all wheelbases, cab configurations, and bed sizes.

Why would I want to replace the exhaust tips on my Charger? The B2 fabrication tips for the charger are larger than the factory tips so they will fill out the exhaust valance openings much better and have a more aggressive appearance. The factory tips are 4”, the B2 tips are 5”, the valance opening are 5.5” They will also lower the exhaust tone slightly
-
Do you have exhaust tips for the Dodge Durango?Yes! These tips also bolt right on the Durango and look fantastic. Here are a couple of pictures of them from a customer of ours.

How do the B2 Fabrication exhaust tips compare to the Carven Dodge Charger exhaust tips? For all intents and purposes, they are the same thing. Carven builds their tips out of two pieces welded together; due to some pretty advanced tooling we were able to build our tips out of one piece. They look exactly the same on the car. We do not put a logo on our Charger tips because they are recessed in the valance you only are able to read part of the logo which doesn't look right. We both offer them in polished stainless and black Cerakote. Theirs are about $40 more expensive.
-
Can’t I just get a cheap set of 5” tips form Ebay or Amazon? They look like the same thing! The B2Fab tips are designed to be a direct fit for your Charger. They bolt on with the factory clamps. We manufacture them this way with specialty tooling to have the perfect factory-style mounting flange. Although generic tips look the similar at first glance they will not bolt on and will need to be either welded, or the factory ball exhaust flanges will need to be cut off and the generic tips clamped on. For the vast majority of customers, the small amount of money saved will not be worth the extra headache and labor.
-
Will changing my Dodge Charger exhaust tips change the sound of my charger?Well, yes and no. The sound will change slightly, the rumble will be lower. During the installation process if you install one side and leave the other side with a factory tip you can start the car and give it a quick listen, it should sound slightly different from the left to the right. The difference in sound is very small, not enough to notice when you are driving the car, but it is there.

How does the B2 Fabrication Ford F150 exhaust system compare to the MBRP exhaust f150 Or the Borla Atak F150?The B2 Fabrication is a 409 stainless system with a price point somewhere in between the MBRP and the Borla. In our testing the MBRP came across a bit raspy due to the smaller and cheaper muffler while the Borla Atak and S-type sounded very similar to the B2 muffler delete. If you put wo trucks side by side, one with a Borla Atak and one with a B2 muffler delete most people couldn’t tell you which one was which. The Borla Touring is higher pitched and slightly louder than our Moderate. MBRP makes a bunch of configurations for the F-150 but most of them are going to sound close to the B2 Delete. The reason for this is because the MBRP systems remove the factory resonator and replace it with a small bullet style muffler. Since the B2 delete leaves the resonator in place but does not use a muffler they sound close to the same, like very close. MBRP street systems have about the same volume and tone as the B2 Aggressive with the 14” muffler.
-
What type of exhaust tips come with my system? Our Ford F150 exhaust tips are the best that money can buy. The factory Ford F150 exhaust tip size is 3.5”, the ones we provide are also 3 ½ inch but there are two of them and they fit tighter and flusher with the body of the truck. They are of a higher quality than what almost all other manufacturers are supplying with their systems. These are double wall TIG welded 304 stainless. You can get them polished or Cerakote black for no extra charge. We sandblast them before Cerakoting for a lifetime finish.
-
What applications do these exhaust systems fit?These fit all wheelbases of Ford F-150 from 2015-2024. They fit the 5.0L, 3.5L EcoBoost, and 2.7L EcoBoost, they do not fit Tremor, Raptor, or PowerBoost engines. 2015 F150 exhaust, 2016 F150 exhaust, 2017 F150 exhaust, 2018 F150 exhaust, 2019 F150 exhaust, 2020 F150 exhaust, 2021 F150 exhaust, 2022 F150 exhaust, 2023 F150 exhaust, 2024 F150 exhaust

My truck has VVT (Variable Valve Timing) Will that be annoying? You will hear the VVT turning on and off more with any aftermarket exhaust system. You will have to listen for it, it isn’t crazy or anything, but it is there. We do not really get any complaints with this. If it really does bother you sometimes putting the truck in manual mode deactivates VVT
-
Does the B2 Fabrication exhaust system cause any cabin noise? Most customers do not report any drone, but there has been slight drone occasionally reported around 1500 RPM's with the retrofit muffler, none with the muffler delete, although with both there may be a slight increase in cabin noise at highway speeds, more so with the delete.
-
What do they sound like? The retrofit muffler will have an aggressive sound at start up, then quiets down to a nice low rumble tone. Not loud at all, and most report no drone in cab at speeds. The muffler delete will be louder than the muffler by about 25%, it will have a higher tone, it can crackle a bit but that tends to go away if you eliminate the flapper valve.
-
What models are compatible with B2 Fabrication exhaust systems? The B2 Fabrication exhaust systems are designed to fit all 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra models with a 5.3L engine. Fits all wheelbases, cab configurations and bed lengths.
-
What comes included? The system includes the direct-fit muffler and tubing, detailed instructions, and all necessary mounting hardware for installation. No additional modifications are needed.
-
Are there benefits of upgrading my Silverado's muffler as opposed to replacing the entire system? The Silverado's and Sierra's come from the factory with mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust systems. These systems are extremely high quality, in most cases a higher quality than aftermarket systems. By only replacing the muffler you will achieve the sound and added performance of a complete cat-back system for a fraction of the cost. The average ear will not be able to tell the difference between the B2 retrofit muffler and a Magnaflow full system for triple the cost.
-
Will upgrading to a B2 Fabrication exhaust system improve my Silverado's performance?Yes, well very slightly. Upgrading to a B2 Fabrication exhaust system can improve your Silverado's performance due to better exhaust flow and engine efficiency, enhancing throttle response, and potentially increasing fuel efficiency by 1-2 mpg.
-
Can I install the B2 Fabrication exhaust system myself?Yes, the installation process is straightforward. It involves cutting out the existing muffler, installing the new muffler, and securing it with clamps. Welding is optional but can be done if you have the capability or by a muffler shop.
